The Black Futsu is an edible ornamental Japanese heirloom pumpkin. A unique chameleon of color, the squash has a rind color ranging from orange to powdery blue to deep greenish-grey. The 3-5lb. fruits have bright orange firm flesh with sweet, nutty flavor compared to chestnuts. Good for baking, soups, stews, and roasting.
